EMC Conversion System

Dayton Technologies has partnered with numerous health care service providers to assist them in filing Electronic Media Claims (EMC).  If your present medical billing system doesn't create electronic billing files in the proper format (i.e., HCFA 1500 or UB92), a customized add-on to your billing system may be the answer.

The EMC Conversion System is such a tool. The Conversion System relies on the fact that most practice management and billing systems can "print" claims to a file as well as to paper. The EMC Conversion System scans these "print image" files and extracts the vital data from each page. The data is then assembled into an NSF-standard file for electronic submission to the payer.

Providers using the EMC Conversion System no longer have to retype claims into another EMC submission tool, and they do not have to wait for the additional turn-around time necessary to process paper claims. In addition, the EMC Conversion System checks the data in each claim to be sure that required fields are filled, and that certain fields are formatted correctly before the claims are submitted. This gives the billing department the ability to fix a significant percentage of the errors that would otherwise cause rejection of the entire batch of claims prior to the submission of the batch.

The EMC Conversion System is available in two versions, one for DOS systems, and one for Microsoft Windows 9x/NT/2000/Me.
