Archival/Offsite Backup Service
Periodic data conversions involve the regularly scheduled transmission
of your data files to our facility for conversion. With the archival
service, the original data files (and their conversions) can be securely
archived at our facility to provide a robust off site backup. If
additional files are backup-worthy, they can be periodically transmitted
to us and archived as well.
Commercial Database Conversions
Suppose you have purchased one of the myriad commercial data sources
available on the market today. If so, it probably came packaged with
some search and presentation tools to allow you to access the data. What
if you want to use the data from these services in your business
application? DCS can convert the data from these sources into any format
you can use in your application. A recent DCS project involved the
conversion of data from a commercial marketing database into a format
that could be imported into the customer's marketing system.
Area Code Conversions
Has the telephone company in your state (or in any state in which you do
business) added or changed area codes? It has in Massachusetts, and it has created
a significant problem for anyone with a sizable database of customers,
vendors, or other business contacts. Here again, DCS comes to the rescue
with a content conversion which can update existing phone number fields
with new area codes where required, saving customers from hand editing
the entire database.
Document Conversions
Have a website? Thinking of building an intranet? If so, are you hoping
to post a bunch of documents on the site? DCS can provide document
conversion services to translate existing word processor-based files
into web-ready documents in formats like HTML or Adobe
Acrobat. This service can also be used to provide bulk upgrades to
move documents from one platform to another. In situations where a
mainframe system is being downsized to a PC network, DCS can convert the
existing files into a format accessible be users on the new network.
Standard Product Conversion Services
Over time, we have compiled a variety of "Standard
Conversions" which allow us to quickly move data from format to
another. These conversions are used mainly to repeatedly move files from
one popular commercial product to another, when there is no
customization involved. Standard conversions can be done much more
quickly than custom conversion projects and are therefore extremely
affordable and attractive.
